Kirsi Jansa

Kirsi Jansa is a Pittsburgh-based documentary filmmaker and climate educator. Kirsi has been exploring sustainability, energy, environmental health, climate change, and climate solutions in her short documentary series Gas Rush Stories and Sustainability Pioneers. She is co-founder and fellow practitioner of Creatives for Climate collaborative. A native Finn, Kirsi worked for the Finnish Broadcasting Company and several national magazines as a reporter until moving to the US in 2008. Kirsi’s work and life is influenced by her 15 years of practice of relaxation, awareness and compassion based meditation under Tara Rokpa Therapy.

Arbor Day of this year, April 26th, a 40-foot Black Cherry tree fell on top of our brand-new electric vehicle while we were driving along a city street. The car was wrecked, totaled. My friend and I survived —alive and unscratched.
